Alex has over 30 years experience in the financial services industry and has been an independent corporate advisor and company director since 2008. Alex worked with Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse First Boston in New York and Australia as an investment banker providing M&A and capital markets advice focusing on clients in theoil and gas and mining industries. From 2003 to 2008 he held senior management positions within the funds management industry and was a Non-Executive Director of Eastern Star Gas Limited until its acquisition by Santos Ltd for in excess of $1.2 billion in 2011.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney and a Master of Commerce from the University of New South Wales. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia. He is a Non-Executive Director of Petrel Energy Ltd (ASX: PRL) and Cleveland Mining Ltd (ASX:CDG) and a Non-Executive Director of Ellex Medical Lasers Limited (ASX: ELX).
Roderick Clarkson is an experienced corporate advisor in the resources sector and has a strong track record of delivering results for clients in capital raisings and M&A transactions. Rod has over 40 years experience in the securities industry having held senior positions within the stockbroking industry, primarily focused on resource sector coverage. He was the Head of Australian institutional sales in London for James Capel (HSBC) (5years), Prudential Bache (5years) and BNP Paribas (4 years).
Returning to Australia in 2001, working for BNP Paribas he led a team to establish a securities firm for Investec Australia becoming Managing Director and head of Securities for Investec Australia. Rod has an extensive domestic and offshore institutional client base he has built over many years.
Dr Chris Baker
Dr Chris Baker is a geologist with 27 years of experience as an equity research analyst and fund manager in the global resources sector. He spent 10 years with Colonial First State, starting in 2001 as Senior Analyst and then Senior Portfolio Manager with the Global Resources Team. In 2011 he assisted with the development of a global resources investment product with the Caledonia group.
In 2015 he ceased full time employment, and now provides corporate advisory services to a limited number of mining industry clients and institutional investors on a part time basis.
Andrew Van Heyst
Andrew Van Heyst brings 30 years of experience in Institutional Equities and Advisory. He worked at Merrill Lynch in New York as Head of Australian Sales and Trading and for ABN AMRO as Head of Australian Sales and Trading and Head of Americas Client Account Management. In 2005 he moved back to Australia joining Shaw and Partners as a Corporate Advisor focussing on Small Cap resources and subsequently joined Pulse Markets as Head of Equity Capital Markets.
Ken is a corporate advisor focused on Australia China cross border transactions. He has successfully managed IPOs, PE funds and investment projects throughout Australia and China, with a particular focus on the agriculture, property and technology sectors.
Ken has spent 20 years in investment and trade roles in the public and private sectors, servicing Chinese corporations and investors seeking to expand globally. Ken was a founding committee member of the China Chamber of Commerce in Australia (CCCA) and was the Secretary-General of that organisation for its first three years. Throughout his career, Ken advised hundreds of Chinese companies to invest off-shore.
Ken travels to China regularly and has a strong knowledge of current economic, political and industry trends. He has published hundreds of market reports and articles in China to introduce Australia and New Zealand business and economics and is a key writer for the official Chinese edition of “Australian Annual Market Report”.
Ken is a company director in Australian and China, including being a Director of a Chinese top 500 in Australia and the Senior Advisor to a Chinese top 10 law firm. Ken holds a masters degree from the Australian business school – MGSM of Macquarie University (Australia).
